This year, Hunterdon board entitled the annual caregivers’ appreciation day as "Caring For You, Caring For Me."

The registration will occur during lunch time. This is an event for all skilled practitioners in the field of caregiving.

BJ Jacobson, RN, CHPN from Hunterdon Hospice will be the guest speaker and will discourse concerns regarding Medical Decision Making Process.

There are also complimentary services comprising services such as blood pressure consultation, car washing, and many more! Lunch and the registration fee are also free of charge! So be there on the 18th of April!

College Stereotypes Unmasked

Looking for a life partner is not the same as wanting to buy essay that you will get it immediately once you want it. Choosing the one person you're gonna spend your life with should be a balance between what you feel and what your mind tells. The reason for this is that there are times that we are too blinded by our emotions that we do not think ahead of the consequences.

A woman tends to always go back to her relationship history and make comparisons among her past and present commitments.

And everything all comes down to their love lives in college.  This is the time when women are in the stage that they are trusting yet doubtful at the same time. Comparisons are inevitable and most of the female population hang on to the stereotypes in the university.

The Frat guy – he is that one guy that attracts the rebellious girls because of his “influence” around the campus.

The Hippie / Neo guy – he is the guy is almost always appears paranoid and perceives everyone else at the same field.

The party guy – he is the one always present at parties and distributing beer and whom every girl would like to flirt out with.

The guy who never sleeps
– well, at least he looks the part. Girls would love to give this guy a calming tea or something to make him go to deep REM.

What A Meditation Program Can Do to Students

Students, no matter what grade they are in, be it in college or in preschool, experience stress towards studying or at home, or worse at both.  That is why schools are adapting mediation programs to help students calm down and de-stress.  Actress Goldie Hawn’s MindUP program, focuses on teaching meditation that helps both teachers and students the art of meditation which is useful in doing better in school.

A few of the following are some of the benefits of having a meditation program in school:

Calms them down
Being in a quiet room, meditating, with no chaos or noise in sight and in hearing, helps students relax without actually sleeping in school.  Make sure the room is meditation friendly – you have the candles, the immediate vicinity is away from places that students hangout such as the cafeteria and library, and that you have a meditation guru to guide the students in basic meditation.  You don’t teach yoga, just a few, basic meditation exercises.

Gives them structure
Having a consistent meditation program gives students a feeling of stability because they know that they will do something on a daily basis.  First thing is to make the meditation program voluntary, don’t impose everyone to join in.  It will eventually roll over and in no time, every student will participate because they see that everyone else is doing it – talk about the bandwagon effect in it’s full positive mode.

Improves Emotional Intelligence
With meditation, students can achieve a sense of calmness combined with resiliency and a positive attitude – all of which make up a good level of emotional intelligence.  And with this they can focus better and comprehend lessons in a more stress-free way.  They will end up not hating to be in school or despise studying.

Improving Your Writing Skills Without Breaking the Bank

Writers are born, but like diamonds, they should be harnessed in order to become priceless.  That is why you need to always improve your writing skills especially when you are in school where there is regular flow of writing assignments such as research papers, reviews, and others.

Those who have money to spend enrol in writing courses in order to perfect their craft.  However, in this current economic climate, burning Benjamins on this endeavour is riskier than before.  You don’t know if you can immediately get back the investment you put into a writing course because hiring is very low.

For those of us who can’t afford to break the bank, so to speak, here are a few ways to improve our writing skills:

Be a voracious reader of intellectually-stimulating articles.  Operative words here are voracious and intellectually-stimulating.  Feast your eyes on content that are well-written, well-observed, and sharp. This way, you will unknowingly absorb good writing practices.

Maximize writing tips posted online.  The internet is full of tips, steps, and advices about everything about writing.  There is no shortage of information about how to become a better writer.

Write, write, write.  Practice makes perfect truly has a basis and reaps results.  You cannot expect yourself to be the skilled writer you want to be if you only write for only once a month, then you’ll always be a mediocre writer.
